Using the Library During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Getting Started

With the University moving all classes to an online format, the library will be working with the school, faculty, and students to ensure that users continue to have access to the materials they need for their classes. This guide will walk you through the numerous ways the library can continue to provide help through online material access, digital research assistance, and additional support for online class creation.

Library Hours and Services

Both campus libraries are closed.  Online assistance is available from 8am - 5pm from Monday thru Friday.

Access to books and other physical items

At this time, we are no longer able to provide in-person pickup of physical items, but there is an alternative.

Library items needed for your courses can be scanned by submitting a digitization request

Digitization requests

Students and faculty may request scanned pages of books, course reserves, and other library materials using the digitization request form.

Return/Renew Books

Don't worry about returning any library items at this time.  We've extended all due dates for checked out items, and we'll let you know about getting them back to us later.

  • July 1 - extended due date for students
  • September 1 - extended due date for faculty

If you near live near the Fredericksburg campus, the library book drop on campus walk will remain open.

Research assistance

Librarians are available to assist you with your research on Monday to Friday from 8am - 5pm. You can email us, chat with us, or text us your questions! Click here for more info.
