Welcome to the UMW Libraries Genealogy guide. This guide is designed to help you find sources for genealogical research in the Fredericksburg area.
The UMW libraries do not maintain a genealogy collection, but we do have some items that may be of interest to genealogists, including Fredericksburg cemetery records and historical newspapers. We also have a subscription to Ancestry Library Edition, which is available to users on campus at UMW (but not to off-campus users).
For further genealogical research, we recommend the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, the Central Rapphannock Heritage Center, and the Library of Virginia.
