Electronic Equipment Guide

USB Microphone

Borrowing

Availability
The HCC Information Desk has six USB Microphones. Use of the usb microphones is on a first come/first borrow basis. Current availability information can be found on the UMW Libraries site.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a usb microphone.

Loan Period
USB microphones may be borrowed for a period of 3 days.

Late Charges

Late fees are $5.00 per day. Charges continue to accrue when the HCC is closed.

What You Borrow
USB Microphones are loaned with:

  1. Microphone
  2. USB interface cable
  3. Desktop microphone stand
  4. XLR cable (checked out as a separate accessory)
  5. Audio-Technica AT-BG1 pouch

You are expected to return the five (5) items identified when you return the usb microphone at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components. 

Replacement Costs for Lost or Damaged USB Microphone
Anyone borrowing a usb microphone is required to sign a form indicating that they "understand that there are certain responsibilities associated with the usage of this equipment and agree to the following terms and conditions":

  • borrower understands that all electronic equipment and/or accessories are the property of the University of Mary Washington.
  • borrower will return all equipment to the University of Mary Washington in the same condition in which it was provided to me.
  • borrower will return all equipment on specified due date/time.
  • borrower understands that failure to return equipment will result in an overdue fine.
  • borrower is responsible for the replacement cost for equipment that is lost, stolen or damaged.  Damages include but are not limited to accidents, neglect, or misuse.

USB Studio Condenser Microphone

Borrowing

Availability
The HCC Information Desk has one USB condenser microphone. Use of the usb microphone is on a first come/first borrow basis. Current availability information can be found on the UMW Libraries site.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a usb microphone.

This USB microphone may be borrowed for a period of 3 days.

Late Charges

Late fees are $5.00 per day. Charges continue to accrue when the HCC is closed.

What You Borrow
A USB Condenser Microphone is  loaned with:

  1. Microphone
  2. Microphone tripod
  3. SP01 Spider shock mount
  4. USB cable
  5. Carrying case

You are expected to return the five (5) items identified when you return the usb microphone at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.

XLR Microphone Cables

Borrowing

Availability
The HCC Information Desk has seven XLR microphone cables. Use of the microphone cable is on a first come/first borrow basis. Current availability information can be found on the UMW Libraries site.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a microphone cable.

Loan Period
Microphone cables may be borrowed for a period of 3 days.

Late Charges

Late fees are $5.00 per day. Charges continue to accrue when the HCC is closed.

What You Borrow

You are expected to return the microphone cable at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components. 

Replacement Costs for Lost or Damaged Microphone cables
Anyone borrowing a microphone cable is required to sign a form indicating that they "understand that there are certain responsibilities associated with the usage of this equipment and agree to the following terms and conditions":

  • borrower understands that all electronic equipment and/or accessories are the property of the University of Mary Washington.
  • borrower will return all equipment to the University of Mary Washington in the same condition in which it was provided to me.
  • borrower will return all equipment on specified due date/time.
  • borrower understands that failure to return equipment will result in an overdue fine.

Heil Microphone

NOTE: This microphone can only be used in conjunction with a reservation of the HCC Vocal Booth in room 116. Reservations for the vocal booth can be made online

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a microphone.

This microphone may be borrowed for a period of 3 hours.

Late Charges

$1 per hour or any part of an hour. Charges accrue 24 hours a day.

What You Borrow
Microphones are loaned with:

  1. Microphone
  2. Pop filter
  3. Heil case
  4. Protective foam

You are expected to return the four (4) items identified when you return the microphone at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components. 

Replacement Costs for Lost or Damaged Microphone
Anyone borrowing a microphone is required to sign a form indicating that they "understand that there are certain responsibilities associated with the usage of this equipment and agree to the following terms and conditions":

Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The HCC Information Desk has two cardioid condenser microphones. Use of the cardioid microphone is on a first come/first borrow basis. Current availability information can be found on the UMW Libraries site.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a cardioid microphone.

Loan Period
This cardioid microphone may be borrowed for a period of 3 days.

Late Charges

Late fees are $5.00 per day. Charges continue to accrue when the HCC is closed.

What You Borrow
A Cardioid Condenser Microphone is loaned with:

  1. Microphone
  2. Zippered case
  3. Clamp
  4. Stand
  5. XLR cable (checked out as a separate accessory)

You are expected to return the five (5) items identified when you return the cardioid microphone at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.

Dynamic Vocal Microphone

Borrowing

Availability
The HCC Information Desk has three dynamic vocal microphones. Use of the microphone is on a first come/first borrow basis. Current availability information can be found on the UMW Libraries site.

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a microphone.

Microphones may be borrowed for a period of 3 hours.

Late Charges

$1 per hour or any part of an hour. Charges accrue 24 hours a day.

  2. Shure microphone case
  3. XLR cable (checked out as a separate accessory)

Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow a microphone.

Microphones may be borrowed for a period of 3 hours.

Intercampus Use

Because of potential loss or damage to technology items, nothing will be shipped via intercampus mail.  Further information is available about technology at Simpson Library or the Stafford Library.
