Intercampus Use

Because of potential loss or damage to technology items, nothing will be shipped via intercampus mail.  Further information is available about technology at Simpson Library or the Stafford Library.

Steadicam Smoothee

Steadicam Smoothee Uses                                                                            A steadicam smoothee is recommended for recording videos on a phone or GoPro. The steadicam smoothee stabilizes and adjusts to balance your device.

What You Borrow
The Steadicam Smoothee is loaned with:

  1. Steadicam
  2. iPhone 5 mount
  3. GoPro Hero mount
  4. Carrying bag

You are expected to return the four (4) items identified when you return the steadicam at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.

3 days.

Vixia HD Camcorder

Vixia HD Camcorder Uses                                                                                                           The Vixia HD Camcorder is recommended for taking videos and photos. It is suggested for:

  2. Taking Photos

The Vixia HD Camcorder is loaned with:

  1. Camcorder
  2. Battery pack
  3. Compact power adaptor/battery charger
  4. USB interface cable
  5. ​SDHC MicroSD Class 10 32GB Memory Card
  6. User manual
  7. Pearson 1030 case

Loan Period
3 days.

You are expected to return the seven (7) items identified when you return the camcorder at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components. 

Flip Video Camera

Further Assistance                                                                             Flip Video Ultra Camcorders have been discontinued by the manufacturer. However, the camcorder includes a user manual. Additional information is found on the Amazon webpage for the product. 

Flip Ultra Uses                                                                                                                                    The Flip Ultra takes videos.

What You Borrow
The Flip video camera is loaned with:

  1. Camera
  2. Two AA batteries
  3. AV video cable
  4. Users' manual        
  5. Soft case
  6. Carrying case

Loan Period
3 days.

You are expected to return the six (6) items identified when you return the Flip video camera at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.

GoPro Uses                                                                                                                                          GoPro's are recommended for extreme outdoor projects. It is suggested for:

  1. Underwater videos 
  2. Weather recordings
  3. Time lapse videos
  4.  Aerial shots
  5. Recordings of extreme sports

The GoPro Video Camera is loaned with:

  1. GoPro 
  2. Rechargeable battery
  3. USB interface/charge cable
  4. SDHC MicroSD Class 10 32GB Memory Card
  5.  GoPro tripod mount
  6. GoPro handler
  7. Waterproof housing
  8. Carrying case

You are expected to return the eight (8) items identified when you return the GoPro at the end of your loan period. You will be billed replacement costs for lost or damaged components.

Policy

Who May Borrow
Only currently enrolled students and actively employed faculty and staff of the University of Mary Washington may borrow equipment.

Late Charges                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Late fees are $5.00 per day. Charges continue to accrue when the HCC is closed.

Replacement Costs for Lost or Damaged Equipment
Anyone borrowing equipment  is required to sign a form indicating that they "understand that there are certain responsibilities associated with the usage of this equipment and agree to the following terms and conditions":

  • borrower understands that all electronic equipment and/or accessories are the property of the University of Mary Washington.
  • borrower will return all equipment to the University of Mary Washington in the same condition in which it was provided to me.
  • borrower will return all equipment on specified due date/time.
  • borrower understands that failure to return equipment will result in an overdue fine.
  • borrower is responsible for the replacement cost for equipment that is lost, stolen or damaged.  Damages include but are not limited to accidents, neglect, or misuse.
